Gulf Weekly Sponsors honoured

A ceremony was held under the patronage of Royal Charity Organisation chairman Shaikh Adnan bin Abdulla Al Qattan to honour 87 sponsors of the Orphans Friends Project.

Shaikh Adnan thanked His Majesty King Hamad for his fatherly care and generosity.
“I would like to thank all the organisations that participated in supporting our charity work,” he said. “The Orphans Friends Project has offered 19 university and 29 school scholarships in addition to 43 hospitals and clinics providing free treatment and 13 private organisation funding our projects and programmes.”
Over 5,000 orphans and 5,000 widows have been supported by the organisation since 2001 by offering them education, health and other services.
Ithmaar Bank executive director Jassim Salman, who spoke on behalf of all organisations participating in the project, praised the efforts exerted to support orphans and widows. Shaikh Adnan presented awards to sponsors and other associations who supported the project.
