Crowning glory

Despite not placing in the top five in the final competition of the BMMI Shops Monday Madness Night Golf Series at the Royal Golf Club, the duo of Rajinder Sachdeva and Kwang Seok Kim managed to hold onto their lead to be crowned overall champions of the series.

One win and two third place finishes in the six-week series were enough to give the pair 13 points overall. Carter Alexander and playing partner Stewart Tankard came second with 11 points and husband and wife Rob and Debbie Lane were third with 8 points.

The final competition of the series, held in the 3 x 3 Rumble format was won by Abdulaziz Ahmed and Sam Jong Kim with a nett score of 31.2. David Wales and Mohamed Akeel came second with 34.3 nett and Rob Mills and Adrian Morgan were third with 35.2 nett. Ali Jassim scooped both side contest prizes having come nearest to the pin on hole 12 and on hole 16.

The prizes were presented by the Royal Golf Club’s George Lodge.

Final results: 1st Abdulaziz Ahmed & Sam Jong Kim (31.2 nett), 2nd David Wales & Mohamed Akeel (34.3), 3rd Rob Mills & Adrian Morgan (35.2), 4th Ali Jassim & Isa Ebrahim (36.1), 5th Carter Alexander & Stewart Tankard (37.5). Nearest the pins: Ali Jassim (holes 12 & 16).
