THE BSPCA would like to thank everyone who turned out for its recent Art to the Rescue auction at the British Embassy.

Hosted by His Excellency the British Ambassador, Iain Lindsay and his wife Bridget, the evening was a great success, despite the sudden heavy rain shower, and far surpassed the previous year’s auction results.
A total of 80 people came along to enjoy the evening and make their bids for 64 fantastic pieces of artwork kindly donated by 21 artists, both locally based and from overseas.

Michelle Page, fundraising coordinator, acted as MC for the evening and ran the auction. The Souk, a painting donated by Abbas Al Mousawi, raised the highest figure, purchased by Fahad Al Shirawi.
The total raised during the evening came to BD5,000 and these funds will be used for special projects required at the Animal Welfare Centre, which are not covered by the income from our thrift shop.

There are too many people to list here thanking them for their help but a full thank you will be posted on our Facebook site (BSPCA Official Page) which details everyone who contributed in one way or another.
This letter is for those members of the public who came along to support the society and did so in the most magnificent way! Thank you everybody for making the evening one to remember.

DUE to unforeseen circumstances, it is with regret that we have had to cancel South African comedian Barry Hilton’s show which was scheduled for Friday at the Bahrain Rugby Football Club.
We are planning on rescheduling for a date later this year, however it is not known at this time.
We thank you for your understanding and look forward to your continual support for our future events.

THE Rotary Club of Adliya is supporting the Royal Charity Organisation (RCO) with its humanitarian work in providing essential aid to the victims of the earthquakes in Nepal.

RCO has identified the dire need for tents to provide shelter for the victims. The cost of a single tent is BD50. Every tent we purchase will provide urgently needed shelter.

We are counting on RCA members and friends to express their support to this campaign by pledging funds to purchase at least one tent per Rotarian, friends and supporters to assist this humanitarian work.

Since the launch of this campaign, we have had more than 25 pledges. We are hopeful that after receiving this message more pledges will be made.

Time is short and we need your urgent action. We are counting on you to make this campaign a success, together we can save lives.
