Artiqaz Jewellery recently held an exclusive launch event at The Domain Hotel & Spa for invited guests and members of the media to showcase its three collections of nature-inspired, hand-crafted pieces.
To further highlight the beauty and intricate detail of the individual items, well-known bloggers and influencers doubled as models for the event. Each blogger chose an item from one of the UK brand’s collections and styled it by creating a coordinating outfit.
The jewellery line aimed to embody the feminine interpretation of the natural world and offered earrings, rings, neck pieces and bracelets incorporated into three collections: La Fleur, Papillon and Celeste. The pieces were crafted with sterling silver, semi-precious stones and fresh water pearls in 24k gold plating.
Nida Arshad, a young entrepreneur who began a fashion line in June 2012, said: “Moving the brand from the United Kingdom to Bahrain was a daunting task because I knew I had to break into a brand new market. However, I’m absolutely delighted with the results.”
Nida says she is currently working on a fourth collection and introducing even bolder designs. For more information about Artiqaz Jewellery, visit www.artiqaz.com
With Eid fast approaching there is a lot of competition in the kingdom’s jewellery market as designers look to attract buyers.
Swayta Toolsidass, a Mughal jeweller who also sells contemporary and traditional pieces and successfully launched her collections back in 2013 at Jewellery Arabia, said: “Bahrain has a lot of potential for jewellers but it is all about building relationships. It is not just about selling. I have many customers that return to me because I understand what they need and take care of them.”
She believes locals and expats living on the island are open to new ideas and appreciate classic pieces too.
