Gulf Weekly Tivoli triumphant

The SsangYong Tivoli is a new crossover SUV and the Korean brand is confident that it will provide a solid and comfortable drive at an affordable price.

The model was officially launched at a press conference attended by distributor Motorcity’s senior management and SsangYong officials at its showroom in Sanad.

The Tivoli arrives with a fresh modern design, practical application and smart technology features, according to its makers.

Named after the Italian cultural city of Tivoli, SsangYong considers this model, the epitome of its ‘dignified, dynamic and rhythmical’ design philosophy. The exterior is ‘urban dynamic’, eschewing the traditional bulky and heavy look of other SUVs, while the LED headlights with two-tone body give the car a strong profile.

Inside, the car is fitted with a D-cut steering wheel and two-toned seats. The interior of the Tivoli aims to offer the modernity of a luxurious living space, with a stylish and contemporary look. The premium leather seat upholstery adds a cool edge to the interior, while the 423 litres of boot space is larger than most of its rivals in the class.

The Tivoli is packed with innovative features, maximising its functionality. It comes with a smart audio system and touchscreen mirroring technology that can reflect a smartphone’s screen onto the car’s seven-inch display. Other features include a dual-zone air conditioning system and push start/stop button, cruise control, as well as parking sensors with a camera.

The smart steer function, which has normal, comfort and sport modes, maximises steering control and ensures safe driving. The electronic power steering also enhances fuel economy.

Safety is a paramount feature in modern motoring, and 70 per cent of the Tivoli’s structure uses high-strength steel that helps to mitigate shock to passengers in a crash situation. There are a minimum of two front airbags and an option of up to seven, while other safety features available on the car include Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD).

Under the bonnet, the Tivoli comes equipped with a 1.6-litre, 128BHP engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. The suspension system (MacPherson struts for the front wheels and a torsion beam on the back) provide a softer, stable driving performance.

The model starts from BD5,650 and with monthly instalments options from BD67.
