‘Bold and outstanding’

The 2016 Lexus RX was unveiled at a classy ceremony alongside pretty models dressed in white, Japanese visitors and company executives at the Lexus showroom in Sitra by distributor E K Kanoo, following a video presentation.

Its designers describe it as ‘bold and outstanding’ and the marque’s dealers in Bahrain believe the luxury crossover will continue to attract a growing number of devotees with its style, equipment range, safety features and pedigree.

The RX is available with two engine options; the RX 350 which features a 3.5-litre, V6 petrol engine coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission, or the RX 450h which is equipped with a 3.5-litre, V6 petrol engine and revised hybrid powertrain components.

“The new RX is completely different from the current generation vehicle thanks to a new, more powerful and efficient powertrain, an improved platform with high-rigidity body shell, and highly tuned suspension,” said chief engineer Takayuki Katsuda.

“Our customers will be pleasantly surprised with the enhanced capability, confident driving feeling and the sophisticated ride quality which creates a superb driving experience.”

The 2016 model continues the ‘progressive luxury’ of Lexus, with sharp lines and contemporary styling, such as the spindle grille featuring a chrome-plated border and triple L-shape-LED headlamps.

Based upon the concept of Lexus’s Human Machine Interface (HMI) that allows the driver to concentrate on the road ahead with minimal distraction, a feature incorporated into the design of the new-look instrument panel is a large colour Head-Up Display (HUD) system.

For infotainment purposes, the 12.3-inch display with a large high-definition Thin Film Transistor (TFT) liquid crystal display allows passengers to access the Lexus multimedia system with new-look graphics and the Remote Touch Interface.

All the latest safety innovations are present, such as the Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and Automatic High Beam (AHB)/Adaptive High-beam System (AHS).

International Motor Trading Agency this week unveiled its new Geely showroom in Tubli and the company hopes that its range of vehicles will entice thrifty customers.

The Chinese company was founded in 1986 as a refrigerator maker but is now one of the largest car manufacturers in China, and is also the owner of the Volvo brand.

Qi Zhenhong, Chinese Ambassador to Bahrain, and K E Kanoo vice-president K N Singh cut the ribbon on the first exclusive Geely showroom in the kingdom, and showcased the new Geely GC7 1.8L, one of its most popular sedans.
