Calling all fashionistas, a designer sale is coming back to the Bahrain Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals’ (BSPCA) thrift shop. ‘Pre-loved’ and new designer items include Ralph Lauren, See by Chloe, LK Bennett, Paul Smith, Tods, Baby Dior and many other luxury goods will be on offer at discounted prices.

The Lost Paradise of Dilmun Waterpark is hosting a three-day holiday extravaganza over the Labour Day weekend.

On Friday, LPOD will host a Khaleeji music festival with Bahrain’s top local band Al Rayash performing Arab music live in the beach area. Lebanese-Saudi resident DJ Zico will spin tracks afterwards.

Saturday will see the LPOD Arts Festival bring together the best of Bahrain’s artists. Showcased will be sand sculptures, live painting and calligraphy. Guests will also enjoy free henna, face painting and caricature drawings.

Sunday is a family fun day with games such as kayaks, a big foot race, treasure hunting and more.

Guests can also enjoy the 19 slides, food outlets, wave pool and lazy river as normal. LPOD is open from 10am-7pm throughout the long weekend.

The Indian Club May Queen Ball will take place on May 19 at the club’s premises in Gudaibiya.

Entries are now open for models of all nationalities to compete for the title of ‘The Indian Club May Queen 2016’. The competition will feature four rounds. Round one will see the contestants having fun in a unique casual routine. In round two, the ladies will wear costumes that represent their native countries. The third round will change the mood back to a more decorous focus with the contestants dressing up in party-wear. The fourth and final round will be a question-and-answer session.

The contestants’ routines will be orchestrated by Kevin D’Cunha, who is one of Bahrain’s foremost choreographers and a veteran of a number of Indian May Queen Ball competitions.

The audience will also be treated to music and dance from renowned international performers.

The event will be restricted to 12 contestants.

The French School of Bahrain is presenting a Musical 2016 Show on May 19 at the Cultural Hall from 6.30pm. Directed by Sadaf Karim, it tells the story of a group of school children auditioning for a part in a new school musical and competing against each other at all costs. It will feature a range of popular songs from artists such as Bruno Mars, Eurhythmics and One Direction.

The Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay’s re/Asian Cuisine restaurant has launched its new Dim Sum Saturday Brunch, featuring fresh dim sums, dumplings and wontons.

The menu features more than 20 items from a curated menu such as wonton soup with fresh prawn dumplings, wok fried shrimp dumplings, Peking duck rolls, wild mushroom-filled vegetable dumplings, Korean fried bao buns and short rib and brisket wontons.

Beside a vast selection of fried rice and hand-made noodles, the brunch menu offers lavish desserts too, prepared by Executive Pastry Chef Pierre Chambon. The coconut cream, the caramel-instilled chocolate fondant, or the Chinese donuts with mandarin jam are just a few of the many examples created to appeal to sweet-toothed brunchers.

The Dim Sum Brunch is priced at BD19 and is available every Saturday afternoon from 12.30pm-3.30pm.
