The Manama Theatre Club is hosting an informal social evening of funny short plays and sketches at the British Club of Bahrain on May 25 and the Dilmun Club on May 26.

The event will start at 7pm and feature food service with a choice of options. Tickets for both nights are BD6, available at the venue.

The Manama Singers are hosting two events at the British Club of Bahrain. On May 27 and 28, they will perform a ‘Swing into Summer’ concert featuring jazz classics from 6.30pm on both evenings, while on May 27 they will stage a Disney Favourites Show from 4pm.

Tickets for Swing into Summer are BD7, and for Disney Favourites BD6. They are available from The British Club, Alosra in Saar and Amwaj, The Bookcase in Budaiya and Words Bookstore Café.

Bushido restaurant is hosting a ‘Cirque Le Soir’ event on May 27 at 9pm to celebrate its seventh anniversary. The show will include crazy costumes, dwarves, magicians, clowns, sword-swallowers, fire-eaters, contortionists and stilt walkers.

Tickets are BD15 for men, and free for women before 10pm and BD10 after 10pm.

Lola’s Cupcakes Bahrain, Um Al Hassam, is hosting a ‘royal cupcake workshop’ for children aged five to 12 on May 28. It will run from 10.30am-noon and costs BD10.

A ladies-only free entry fashion event called ‘Moda Expo’ will be held during Ramadan at the Gulf International Conventions Centre of the Gulf Hotel Bahrain on June 11-12 from 7pm-1am.

On display will be the latest lines of abayas, accessories, make-up, footwear, bags and other local products.

The Gulf Hotel is staging numerous mouth-watering culinary events this month and next. For example, a Mexican Food & Cultural Festival will be staged from May 26 to June 3. Fourteen entertainers from the country’s renowned ballet company Yoliztli Widen de la Laguna will perform in the lobby during the event. The third and final lap of Giro D’ Italia’s culinary journey takes in the southern regions of Italy featuring delights from Sicily to Molise. Chef Enrico is plating up a special selection of a la carte and set menus under this theme until June 5.

LMFAO’S DJ Sky Blu plans to set the stage on fire tomorrow night at Elite Crystal Hotel’s Klub 360 in Juffair.

The former curly-haired performer, who is now sporting a shaved head look, will be delivering a variety of LMFAO favourites along with a selection of his recent hit solo work such as Pop Bottles, We Love Girls and Go On Girl.

The Elite Hospitality Group says it is excited to be hosting such a major US act, stating that he is the real deal and not a tribute show.

The Gulf Hotel Bahrain will once again provide its popular Ramadan tent, Khaimat Al Khaleej, in addition to lavish iftar buffets featured daily at Al Waha Restaurant and Takht Jamsheed.

The iftar buffet, made up of the freshest local ingredients and traditional Arabic specialties, will be served daily at Al Waha Restaurant, while Iranian restaurant Takht Jamsheed will also be serving both Arabic and Persian delicacies every evening from sunset onwards. The Elite Resort & Spa is offering a variety of promotions throughout Ramadan in its Noor Tent, which offers views of the sea and a relaxing atmosphere by the pool. The iftar buffet costs BD9.900, ghabga with live entertainment costs BD12.500, while suhoor costs BD5.500.

The Art Rotana Hotel & Resort in Amwaj Island is offering a choice of Ramadan promotions for guests. The first is the iftar and ghagba at Choices Restaurant. This features a wide range of traditional dishes and international offerings.

Iftar will take place from sunset to 8.30pm daily and cost BD17++ for adults and BD9++ for children. Ghabga takes place from 9.15pm to midnight daily and costs BD19++ for adults and BD9++ for kids.

This Ramadan, guests at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay can experience true hospitality at its Arabesque-themed Ramadan Tent.

An extravagant iftar buffet prepared by Executive Chef Stefano Andreoli and his culinary team features a selection of popular local fare in addition to Lebanese, Turkish, Moroccan, Indian and international cuisine prepared at live cooking stations.

The Downtown Rotana in Manama is putting on a show for its first Ramadan offering. The hotel’s Al Maha Ballroom will feature traditional delicacies from both local and international cuisine, juices and desserts for BD14++ per person.
