Gulf Weekly All set for a Brave round 2

Another furious night of blood, bruises and battered bodies will be held this weekend as a melee of figters tou down in the kingdom for a nigt of fistiuffs.

After a hugely successful event in September, the Brave Combat Federation is returning for its second event on Friday, titled ‘Brave 2 Dynasty’, featuring 10 brutal brawls with fighters representing 15 countries.

However, the organisers have been dealt another injury blow as the company’s biggest match-up yet, the first Brave world title featherweight clash between Mexican Masio Fullen and German Alan Omer, has had to be cancelled.

It’s the second time that Brave has been forced to change its show schedule. The first edition suffered when local favourite Mohammad Fakhreddine had to pull out of a fight against Thiago Vieria after damaging his knee.

Regardless, the show must go on, and the new main event will guarantee a thrilling war between two of the world’s biggest hitting welterweights, Briton Carl ‘The Bomber’ Booth (6-1) and Russian Gadzhimusa ‘Deadshot’ Gaziev (7-1).

These explosive bruisers pack devastating punches, with often more explosive consequences. Gaziev shot to fame at the first Brave event when he took the last minute call to fight 25-year-old undefeated Vieira as Fakhreddine’s replacement, and subsequently destroyed the Brazilian in the first round.

Gaziev believes that Booth’s nickname will become quite ironic on fight night, as he predicts it will be he dishing out the bombs. He said: “There is no doubt that I will win. What is more interesting is Carl’s nickname.

It sounds pretty funny, because he will receive a bombing of my hands while he’s lying on the ground.” In addition, the card also features some of the hottest prospects from the Middle East, who will be looking to make a name for themselves.

Second on the bill is the new co-main event, and it features a mouthwatering welterweight contest, involving the undefeated Ottman Azaitar and Argentina’s Kevin Koldobsky. Azaitar has finished all of his opponents in previous fights, and looked unstoppable in doing so, but is yet to face a real test.

This fight will determine whether the TurkishGerman beast can follow in his brother, Abu’s, footsteps and continue his dominant run. The ‘Jordanian Lion’ Jarrah Al Selawi (7-2) will face Swedish prospect Erik Carlsson.

Both men are renowned finishers, so this should be a very quick and entertaining fight. Undefeated and feared Alex Da Silva Coelho (17-0) puts his record on the line against Daniel Swain (16-7).

Also, veteran Walel Watson (13-8), will face Algerian upcoming star Elias Boudegzdame (12-4). There’s another first for Brave in Bahrain – the promotion’s first ever light heavyweight bout, between two behemoths.

Tyree Fortune and Ben Forsyth are two decorated wrestlers, both with long undefeated streaks and huge amateur pedigree. The event will take place on Friday at Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town.

Tickets priced BD10, BD15 and BD25 (conditions apply) are on sale at www. bravefights.com, Virgin Megastore, Sadad Bahrain kiosks and at selected outlets.
