The Royal Golf Club has appointed new PGA head teaching professional Ben Todd to its academy team.

Ben, a Brit from the historic Somerset city of Bath, started playing golf at the age of eight and he carried out his PGA training in Ireland. Upon qualifying, he started work at The Address Montgomerie in Dubai where he managed a junior development programme, as well as helping individual players.

He said: “I’m delighted to be here in Bahrain and look forward to working with Marc and Zander, our two PGA teaching professionals, on growing the game of golf here”.

Ben will begin his role by renewing the RGC’s academy programmes starting with golf lesson rates and packages followed by new initiatives which will come into effect from next month. Further details will be announced shortly.

He added that he continually strives to improve his teaching skills and ‘knowledge of the golf swing’ to help students learn effectively and enjoy the sport.
