I read Kristian Harrison’s amusing article in last week’s GulfWeekly and thought I ought to share my understanding regarding the Autumn Fair.

Apparently, it was once regularly held at the end of the summer and when it was moved to January the organisers didn’t want to ‘confuse’ people by changing such a well-established event title.

Hence the Autumn Fair remains a much loved date in our diaries even in winter!

Hopefully, the annual Spring of Culture will not be moved to October!
