Awali Golf Club staged one of its favourite competitions on Friday, the Shaikh Abdul Rahman bin Fares Al Khalifa Golf Tournament, sponsored by the late Shaikh’s family.
They provided a very generous prize table and a lovely meal in his honour. The long list of prize winners was topped by Nasser Yaqoob with the lowest gross score of 70, followed by Abdulla Al Hakam, Rashid Al Qutami and Diab Sager Al Noaimi respectively, each with a gross score of 74. Fifth place was taken by Yousif Al Murbati with 75. Ahmed Al Noaimi lost on countback.
The Best Net score went to Paul Mclean with a net 66/gross 84 and prizes went out to 14 other players for best net, namely, Mohammed Hamad Al Aathem 66/78, Gopi Talreja 69/96, Rashed Al Haji 69/84, Daij Khalifa 69/79, Kerry Diaper 70/95, Rashed Ahmed Abdulla 70/76, Dong Jin Jeong 70/84, Ahmed Al Noaimi 70/75, Susan Scott 70/92, Balbir Singh 70/93, Ateeq Majali 71/81, Yousif Y Saleh 71/76, Pete Rogers 71/83 and Hamad Al Qutami 71/77.
Side prizes for Nearest The Pin went to Lynn St. Lawrence, Salah Ali Eid, Nasser Mohammed, Abdulla Al Kaabi and Paul Mclean.
Longest Drive prizes went to Jo Pawson and Khalifa Daij Ahmed, while the Longest Putt was made by Jeong Hae Kwak.
