The best thing about concerts in Bahrain is there are relatively small queues, limited traffic and with venues like Bahrain Bay, you are able to watch artists in superb surroundings.

From the minute Rita Ora bounced onto the stage at Bahrain Bay, her boundless enthusiasm spread like wildfire to the audience.

Within a few minutes, most of the female audience were screaming, shouting, clapping and dancing. Her likeable girl-next door persona resonated with the young female crowd and she didn’t disappoint.

The choreographed routines were on point and entertaining in ways that were fun, flashy and extremely energetic. She belted out her biggest hits including Hot Right Now, Your Song and my favourite Anywhere with polished vocal rifts and infectious energy.

Personally, I didn’t enjoy her cover of George Michael’s Freedom, to me it didn’t suit the energy of her performance, but it did give the parents in the audience a chance to sing along to something they knew.

She may have shimmered like a true pop goddess, sparkling incredibly in  an all-white sequined bodysuit with sequined boots … but the matching coat to offer some modesty was definitely too hot for the balmy Bahrain evening.

So, a quarter way through the performance, cue costume change, where obviously the stylist was on a tea-break as when Rita came back onto the stage she was reinvented as, exactly the same but this time with the small coat tied around her waist like a jumper.

But fashion aside, it was a fabulous concert at a beautiful venue.

When Rita Ora left the stage, disappointingly not returning for an encore, even though the concert was ridiculously short at just under an hour, she definitely left her fans at Bahrain Bay with a night to remember and wanting more.
