Preparations are in full swing for Bahrain’s first Comic-Con this weekend, with a plethora of rare and exclusive merchandise flown in for the big occasion.

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has provided memorabilia from the deepest annals of the company’s history to wow fans expected to turn up in their droves to meet their heroes and experience the latest in entertainment.

Omar Turk, the marketing manager of Comic-Con’s organising company Dallah, said: “WWE has worked very closely with us and we are so grateful that it has provided so many special pieces of history.

“Many of the items are extremely precious and will be for display only, while other merchandise will be replicas for sale. We hope that fans of wrestling both old and new will love what we have to offer at the stall.”

Treasures set to be showcased include The Undertaker’s entrance jacket which the legend wore at WrestleMania 15, the purple boots worn by the iconic Harley Race at WrestleMania 3, ticket stubs from the first WrestleMania held in 1985, T-shirts from WrestleMania 2 and a number of title belts held by superstars over the years.

However, one WWE product being brought to the kingdom has got fans particularly excited … wrestler Daniel Bryan!

The four-time WWE world champion and current general manager of SmackDown is visiting the kingdom for the first time, and can’t wait to meet his army of fans. Speaking exclusively to GulfWeekly, he said: “I’ve never been to Bahrain before so I’m excited to meet all the wrestling fans there, who I am told are very passionate!

“Hopefully, I’ll inspire others who haven’t watched wrestling before to try it out, too!

“Conventions are always a lot of fun, getting to meet other professionals from the entertainment industry and getting up close and personal with supporters rather than from across barriers.”

The event will take place on Friday and Saturday at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir, and feature numerous special guests as well as a plethora of stands, stalls and exhibitions.

Along with Daniel Bryan, confirmed guests include Game of Thrones actor Jerome Flynn and Stranger Things actor Joseph Keery.

Tickets are available now, with a day pass BD10, a two-day pass for BD15 and VIP tickets which cost BD80. These are limited to 500 and will offer ticketholders a chance to take pictures with the celebrities and receive a goodie bag.

They can be purchased from You Make We Bake in Juffair, Ice Games, Euphoria and Ravens Nest.

Bahrain Comic Con will be held this Friday and Saturday at Bahrain International Circuit. Tickets are available online from https://tickets.visitbahrain.bh. For details, follow @bahraincomiccon on Instagram.

Four lucky GulfWeekly readers, Carmelo Quinto, Sana Binte Maleck, Redha Al Tooblani and Benjamin Chacko, have each won a free ticket to the event.
