Tomorrow (June 14)

The Al Rashid Group is staging local bazaars at its Oasis Malls until Saturday featuring entertainment and activities including henna, face painting and clay modelling. There will also be traditional Arabic performance artists and the malls are also running a Clothes for Compassion initiative until the end of the holy month. Nepali Club Bahrain is presenting a Nepali Musical Night 2018 at the Delmon International Hotel Manama starting at 6pm. Entry is priced BD5.

 

Saturday (June 16)

Mickey and Minnie Mouse along with a star cast will take audiences on a musical adventure as Disney on Ice presents the Bahrain debut of Passport to Adventure.

Favourite Disney characters featured will include Simba, Timon and Pumbaa from The Lion King, Ariel and Sebastian from The Little Mermaid, Peter Pan, Wendy and Tinker Bell from Peter Pan, as well as royal sisters Anna and Elsa from the Number One animated feature film of all time, Frozen.

It opens at the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre from 3pm to 7pm today, at 11pm, 3pm and 7pm on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and at 3pm on Wednesday.

In celebration of Eid Al-Fitr, the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) presents a musical performance honouring the legacy of the late Abu Baker Salem presented by Bahraini singer, Mohammed Al Bakri, at the Cultural Hall.

The Saudi-Yemeni artist was known and loved throughout the Arab world both for his songs and poems.

This tribute is part of the authority’s Eid celebrations which coincide with the launch of the Bahrain Summer Festival. It starts at 8pm and admission is free for all. For details, call 17298777.

 

Sunday (June 17)

BACA presents a Ta’a AlShabab Festival concert of Bahraini and Arabic music at the Cultural Hall featuring Harmony, a group of young musicians including singers Mohammed Assiri and Yousif Al-Jabri. Admission is free. The concert starts at 8pm.

 

THE 42nd session of the World Heritage Committee will be held at the Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain. Two international forums will take place.

The Young Heritage Professionals Forum, running from June 17 to 26, will receive 30 young heritage experts from all over the world, who will interact with locals to exchange experiences and ideas. There will be a set of activities introducing local culture and heritage.

A Site Managers Forum is planned to take place from June 21 to 28, offering a platform to reflect on heritage protection and also share information.

Monday (June 18)

The 10th edition of the Bahrain Summer Festival returns under the slogan Muharraq Capital of Islamic Culture with a two-month programme. It will take place in the Nakhool Tent at Arad Fort and will offer a variety of children’s activities.

Nakhool and Nakhoola, the adventurous mascots will welcome families on arrival. The tent is open every day, except on Sunday, from 5pm to 9pm and admission is free. For details, call 17567171.
