Founded in 1858 by John Spicer and Philip Robinson, Robinsons Department Store is one of the most iconic retail landmarks in Singapore. Robinsons has since become one of the best performing department stores in Southeast Asia.

The iconic Robinsons Department Store, which is operated by UAE-based Al Futtaim Retail Group since 2008, has launched a youthful autumn and winter 2019 collection with a “grown-up” twist.

The brand, founded by John Spicer and Philip Robinson in 1858, is moving away from the summer’s punchy neon and striking statement pieces to showcase minimalistic garments that exude elegance and sophistication. Sport and streetwear influences have also been glamourized and there are unexpected pairings of fabrics and colours in this must-have collection.

Adosh Sharma, general manager of Robinsons, said: “As one of the region’s most unique retail establishments, we are delighted to be offering something new this season through our ‘Free Style’ campaign. With the latest collections from more than 260 fashion brands available in-store, leading beauty brands and an ever-growing homeware collection, we truly offer something for everyone.”

Womenswear includes stunning evening gowns and understated cocktail dresses by renowned fashion designers such as Ingie Paris and Zac Zac Posen; one-of-a-kind jewellery from Simon Miller and this season’s “it” bags by Strathberry and Cult Gaia to name a few.

Here are the key trends to follow this Fall Winter 2019:

Urban Extravagance

Sports-enthused pieces take on a more glamorous aesthetic with oversized hoodies adorned with opulent embellishments. Track tops are crafted in luxurious fabrications in jewel hues.

Primary Layers

Second-skin items have already cemented themselves as wardrobe staples and the best part of it all is that bold and bright colours will drive newness. Luxe rayons take on sheen-like sportswear qualities, while semi-sheers prove great for layering items.

Tailored Fit

Tailoring takes on bolder silhouettes with strong-shouldered blazers styled with shorts and heels for a new take on occasion dressing. It’s all about the blazer.

Sporty Ruching

Ruching continues to evolve for autumn and winter 2019. Adjustable drawstring panels are carefully placed to create subtle definition or added to the hems of crisp shirting for a sporty touch.

Check Mate

Traditional checks are refreshed via new colourways. Heritage items such as the kilts and pinafores return, while experimenting with mismatched patterns keep head-to-toe looks current.
