In addition to the BIC’s National Day Festival, there is a slew of other events planned across the island.

The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain will once again sparkle on December 16 in celebration of the 48th National Day in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Shining bright in “red and white” against the city skyline, the hotel will join the celebrations with its award-winning illumination of exterior lights. Families can begin the day with traditional Bahraini inspired cuisine at La Med featuring the national dish of Chicken Machboos and other traditional delicacies, prepared by Chef de Cuisine Hanan Osman as well as the decadent “Spirit Cake” by Executive Pasty Chef Jonathan Challenor.

On December 15 starting at 7pm until 7am the next day, at the Bahrain National Museum, “Manama Doesn’t Sleep” commemorates the 31st anniversary of the museum with an exciting lineup of events embracing the energy of Bahrain and Manama.

The thrilling celebration is over 12 hours long, and includes a variety of events, including music and dance shows, literary talks, fine art exhibits and more.

Starting at 7am on December 16 at the Bahrain Bay wharf, the Bahrain Rowing Club will host a series of Dragonboat races, as part of the Grand National Day Race.

There will be food and beverage outlets as well as entertainment for the entire family.

Following the race, from 2pm to 5pm, Bahrain’s first ever and largest paddle parade, featuring all sorts of human-powered paddle vessels will take to the water. Visitors can rent paddle boards and kayaks or bring their own vessel for a BD2 registration fee.
