The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain inaugurated its newly renovated Royal Beach Club at an event for members and media last weekend.

The facility reopened officially last night offering guests a chance to fully immerse themselves in a total ‘Wellness 360’ experience with the completion of the new indoor heated pool and locker facilities, along with a modern juice bar, aptly named “La Vie.”

The final phase comes after the 2019 enhancements of the mixed gym and fitness studio, which offer the latest in gym equipment as well as floor-to-ceiling windows with endless views of the Arabian Gulf.

Chief designer for the project Davide Chiaverini commented: “The layout was done with considerable input from the ownership. It was very old and this was the first rejuvenation since the facility was first built. Since this was designed in the 90s, it needed a facelift. We kept the pool the same shape, but we redid the ceiling, the flooring and the décor.

“We have gone for a much airier, lighter but luxurious feel. There was significant focus on the flow. So members can easily move from the completely remodeled changing rooms to the upgraded gym and fitness facility and, of course, to the relaxing pool area.”

Featuring a modern design and sleek wooden interiors, the newly enhanced indoor heated pool offers a year-round aquatic experience with daily classes for both children and adults. The club’s changing rooms have undergone a complete makeover with key-pad locker facilities, shower areas, private changing rooms, towel-service and Asprey bath products. Guests and members can also enjoy La Vie, the new “on-the-go” healthy dining concept with a modern menu of detox and energy smoothies, juices, coconut water, Nai teas, and more.

Lex Posie, membership manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain said, “Members are really pleased. They say it looks completely transformed and matches the style of the gym and fitness studio. They really love the marble and the tree as well as how spacious it now feels.”

For traveling guests, a new ‘Wellness 360’ package provides an island retreat for the mind, body and soul. Retreat packages start at BD180++ per night with a minimum two night stay, and offer luxury airport transportation, club room or villa accommodations, a personalised fitness and training itinerary, nutrition consultation, two “La Vie” juice bar vouchers daily, 120-minute Body Wrap, “Dream Well” amenity kit with personalised eye mask, stress relief massage, the hydrotherapy marina bath experience at The Ritz-Carlton, Spa, a calming-pillow spray mist in lavender scent as well as USD100 dining credit.

Bernard de Villèle, general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain noted: “Each year, more than 1.4 billion people travel internationally. Within this figure, wellness tourism alone has seen a 57 per cent increase since 2015. Travellers are spending their newfound wealth on wellness travel and seeking out uncharted destinations to have this experience. And thanks to the longstanding support of our ownership, International Hotels Establishment, we are fortunate to offer the best state-of-the-art wellness experience for members and traveling guests into the Kingdom of Bahrain, all coupled with award-winning dining and spa experiences that are truly first class.
