Gulf Weekly ‘The Nose’ in Bahrain

Al Hawaj Group received renowned perfumer Alessandro “The Nose” Gualtieri at a special Meet and Greet at The Avenues Bahrain.

Alessandro, referred to by perfume pundits as having an avant-garde nose, was present at Niche Garden alongside Rita Donadei, export manager of SNOT TV (Nasomatto – Orto Parisi brands) and Italian Ambassador Paola Amadei. Jawad Al Hawaj, Al Hawaj’s managing director, was also present along with Abdul Wahab Al Hawaj, the general manager, Shyam Narayanan, the operations manager, Harish Rajusthy, the brand manager and Shaker Abdulla, the division manager. The event, which featured the launch of the fragrant lines, attracted several dignitaries, invited guests and members of the press.

During the Meet and Greet, the Italian expressed his joy about his collections Nasomatto and Orto Parisi and Al Hawaj Group. His fragrance inspirations over the years stem from his upbringing, experiences and travels including the UAE, Oman, India and Saudi Arabia. Alessandro spent eight years working at mainstream fragrance suppliers in Europe until he decided to branch out and do his own thing. He left in 1995 to create his own brand and started with Nasomatto which now features an array of 11-scents. Nasomatto is Italian for “crazy nose”. Black Afgano is one of the smoky bestseller in that collection. Meanwhile, Orto Parisi is a six-scent homage to his grandfather, Vincenzo Parisi, a farmer.

After the unveiling, he met with members of the press and was present for pictures and a cake cutting ceremony.
