An award ceremony was held by American Mission Hospital (AMH) celebrating the winning doctors, nurses and non-clinical staff members who participated in interdepartmental contests to mark this year’s International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW) and World Quality Week.

They were awarded trophies, certificates of appreciation and cash prizes by the hospital’s management last Thursday.

The contests included video-making, collages, plan-do-study-act studies and presentations, created to raise awareness about IIPW and World Quality Week and the winner of the Best Infection Prevention and Control Video was the Saar Medical Centre team.

This year’s international themes are to ‘Make Your Intention Infection Prevention’ and ‘Sustainability: improving our products, people and planet’ – and AMH’s entire team aimed to do just that.

IIPW, established in 1986, shines a light on infection prevention each and every year whilst spreading awareness of infection prevention and control among healthcare professionals, administrators, legislators and consumers.

Meanwhile, the World Quality Week highlights quality’s role in sustainability and its environmental, social and governance (ESG) impact.
