Being a frequent flyer comes hand-in-hand with the expat life. I can remember when flying felt exciting and was an annual luxury, if you were lucky - usually, with a two-week beach holiday filled with sunshine at the other end.

A THOUGHTFUL daughter left her dad home alone to watch a movie she had picked up for him as a thoughtful gesture. He sat on the sofa, placed the suspect CD in the DVD player and settled down for some intergalactic action, having read Kristian Harrison’s rave review in last week’s FilmWeekly about Independence Day: Resurgence. He was not impressed when she returned home, as she’d picked up a copy of Independents’ Day, another movie about invading aliens, which her father labelled a complete stinker.
