Mövenpick Hotel, Muharraq, held an annual party for its employees. Accounts receivable supervisor Lucas Fernandes was awarded ‘Employee of the Year’, receiving a free trip to Switzerland.

Food and Beverage Department employee Lucas Menezes was honoured with a cash award for being selected as the ‘Employee of the Month’. The event, organised by hotel human resources manager Saad Harbaan and hosted by communications and brand manager Shama Uchil, was attended by general manager Jan Kaiser and other members of the management team. The employees, who were entertained by a live band, games and magic show, also received various prizes.

Ahmed Ali won a BMW X3 in the second quarter WinniMax campaign in June,  at a draw held at the CrediMax premises, Manama.  Throughout an enhanced WinniMax programme during 2007, CrediMax card users can win 20 exciting monthly prizes comprising a range of gadgets, quarterly prizes of great cars and a grand prize of a luxurious Mercedes Benz S Class 350, 2008 model.

Batelco was one of the main sponsors for the recent Woman Gate Conference, organised by Woman Gate in co-operation with the Bahrain Business Women’s Association and Gulf Centre for Marketing and Services Studies. The conference, which took place at the Gulf Hotel, was held to encourage women to start small businesses. The presentations and workshops were held by representatives from Microsoft and the United Nations. Batelco Corporate Affairs general manager presented the sponsorship cheque to Gulf Centre for Marketing and Services Studies chief Foaud Sayadee and Bahrain Business Women’s Association member Ameena Essa, at a ceremony at Batelco Headquarters in Hamala.
