Council award chance for young fashion entrepreneurs

IN February 2008, the British Council will present the inaugural International Young Fashion Entrepreneur of the Year (IYFEY) award – to champion and celebrate the importance of creative entrepreneurs working in the international fashion industry – showcasing individual achievement and potential.

IYFEY is part of the council’s International Young Creative Entrepreneur (IYCE) programme and includes other awards for entrepreneurs in publishing, music, design and screen.
The UK tour is to take place in mid-February for 10-12 days.
The tour will include London and one other UK region, aiming to give the finalists a general overview of the UK fashion industry and introduce them to key leaders and innovators working in this area. 
The tour will include visits, meetings, seminars, exhibitions, fashion shows and other events.
London Fashion Week (LFW) will form a key part of the UK visit.
The winner of the IYFEY 2008 award will win a cash prize, which is to be spent on a project in collaboration with the British Council.
Candidates for the IYFEY award must be:
Bahraini nationals.
Aged between 25 and 34 years.
Be entrepreneurial and have shown their ability in the promotion of  the fashion business in Bahrain.
Have English language skills to IELTS 6 – ‘competent user’ or above.
Already working in the fashion industry.
