Hi everyone have you had a good week? It's been a fast, furious and fun one for me.

I've been taking full advantage of all the V8 Supercar action down at the BIC (Bahrain International Circuit) and on Tuesday and Thursday we filmed two shows of my new music TV programme 'Music Mania' down there.

If you'd like to check out the show, tune into Bahrain TV Channel 55 at 7.30pm on Sundays and Wednesdays. I hope you enjoy it and I'll tell you a bit more about 'Music Mania' later. But first let me tell you what else has been going on.

On Wednesday it was, of course, Halloween; and I took my family to a great kids' party at the Dilmun Club.

When we got home there was plenty of trick-or-treating going on around our compound ... so much in fact, we ran out of sweets and had to give away my favourite chocolates. But never mind, I've since been out and replenished my stocks.

Also, a mate of mine had a birthday party on Thursday night. We got rather lost finding his new address but had a wonderful time when we eventually got there. And, I was back down at the circuit on both Friday and Saturday to watch all the excitement of the races. Also, during the working week it has been pretty busy at the Radio Bahrain studios with lots of visitors coming in to see me.

So you see, the week has really been very hectic.

I love it when I have guests to talk to in the radio studio. I always try to smile whenever I'm on air; 'cause I reckon that listeners can 'hear' it when you're smiling. But this week I've not had to try very hard, as my guests have had me in stitches laughing and kidding around much of the time.

First up I had Aussie V8 driver Jamie Whincup in. He had a bit of trouble getting into the studio but BIC CEO Martin Whitaker and I resolved the situation with a bit of creative dressing, oops I mean thinking, and we had a fun and informative chat about the Aussie V8's racing championship.

Later that day I got a phone call from Paul Marinello; the PR Guru from Ford Performance Racing (FPR) and I went and had a coffee with him at a coffee shop in a mall.

We were having a good ol' chin wag about what's been happening to him since we last met; all about his lovely new baby daughter Jennifer, and life, the universe and everything, when a couple of girls came over and asked if I could sign an autograph for their sister.

Naturally I obliged and then carried on with our conversation. Then someone-else came over and asked for a request on the breakfast show (which I, of course, wrote down). He was amazed with all of this and said that I was so lucky to have nice people coming up recognising me and having a chat.

Not always, I thought to myself. I found myself remembering one time my wife Wendy and I went out for a 'romantic' meal on St. Valentine's night.

We were finally getting to eat our dessert after constant interruptions from people who wanted to say hello and chat, when yet another person came up and asked me to sign a tablecloth for their daughter (which I proceeded to do) but, Wendy went 'ballistic' in a very unique and frightening way.

She silently stood up, picked up a magazine from the waiting area, returned to the table and proceeded to read it in front of us.

Anyway, I digress. The next day Paul came into the studio with Mark Winterbottom (whose nickname is 'Frosty') we chatted about the V8s and I asked 'Frosty' what his favourite tune was. He responded by asking for 'Jitterbug' by Wham. I eventually realised that he meant 'Wake me up before you go, go'!

Aussies always like to abbreviate things; like Arvo (Afternoon), Barbie (Barbeque), G'day (Good Day) and so many others that I just can't remember.

I give all the Aussies a good 'ribbing' whenever I get the chance, and they give it back as good as they get. Funny though, some people thought I was being a bit 'mean'.

Don't forget I'm married to an Aussie, and I really enjoy their sense of humour. That's lucky I guess, because when we filmed a special segment for "Music Mania" I got Frosty (who drives for Ford) and Jack Perkins (Holden) together to do a '60 second challenge' for the show. The challenge was to answer 15 questions within 60 seconds whilst skipping on a rope.

To find out who won; tune in to Music Mania. It was so much fun and to cap it all during the actual V8 races (of which there were three) I was allowed into the pits with the FPR racing team and met up with all the behind-the-scenes guys. And guess what else? Mark came out as winner of the Desert 400 for 2007!

It was a fantastic fun watching what goes into getting a V8 car racing round the track. But as soon as the celebrations died down the team began dismantling everything for their 10pm flight that night back to Australia.

I take my hat off to the lot of them. If you didn't get to the action this year make it a date in your diary for next year as it is a spectacular and memorable event.

Keep Hopping

All my love
