A SPECIAL three-day event is to be staged again next year in a bid to help young Bahrainis make their first step into the world of work.
Abdul Ellah Al Qassimi, chairman of the 'Career Expo Steering Committee' officially announced at a Gulf Hotel Press conference that the Expo will be held in October at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre.
The Expo, which is held annually and is currently in its eighth year, is a non-profit, voluntary, community effort mainly organised by the Ministry of Labour with the support of the Ministry of Education, National Society for Support of Education & Training and the Specific Councils for Vocational Training.
A spokesman for the organisers said: "The three-day event, targetted at Bahraini secondary students, vocational students, jobseekers, parents and the community, aims to increase Bahraini students' and jobseekers' understanding of the professional world.
More than 90 companies have supported previous events and over 15,000 people have attended.
Several successful activities held at the last Career Expo - such as a skills competition, a quiz show and raffle draw - will be retained.
