Bahrain Air, the first premium low fare private national carrier, has started its Bahrain-Jeddah service.

This service will operate three times a week for the entire summer season, and will run four weekly flights starting in September.

Managing director Ibrahim Al Hamer thanked the Saudi Civil Aviation Authority for all the support and co-operation it has provided to Bahrain Air.

He said: "This will serve the increasing demand from travellers from Bahrain and the other destinations of Bahrain Air.

"We are pleased to be able to serve the community by way of offering a cost effective and comfortable means of travel, moreover, passengers will be able to fly from Jeddah onward to other destinations of Bahrain Air's network."

The flights between Bahrain International Airport and King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah started on July 23, using modern Airbus A320 aircraft with 12 premium class and 150 economy class seats, to serve the growing demand.
