Mšvenpick Hotel Bahrain appointed Luis Alfonso Machleidt, left, as its new food and beverages manager.

With more than 15 years experience ranging from resorts, business and boutique to high-volume multiple-outlet city hotels, his new position will bring fresh ideas to the already popular culinary fare of the hotel.

A German, Mr Machleidt has extensive experience in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

Prior to this, he was the F&B manager for Coco Palm Bodu Hithi in the Maldives. He has also been the F&B manager for Holiday Inn Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, a seven-outlet property; Red Sea Hotels, an 850-room and eight-outlet hotel in Egypt and Kempinski San Lawrenz Resort & Spa, Gozo, Malta.

Mr Machleidt said: "It is always a matter of pride to be a part of a successful hotel chain such as ours and I look forward to working with Mšvenpick Hotel Bahrain."

New to the kingdom, he is already taken in by the warmth and friendliness of the people. Apart from his inclination to good management and food, Mr Alfonso also enjoys sailing, tennis and scuba diving.

General manager Jan Kaiser added: "As our popularity enhances, we are happy to welcome an experienced and dedicated person like Mr Machleidt."
