The Infiniti Essence concept car, shown to the world for the first time four months ago at the Geneva Motor Show, concluded its pan-European tour at the 2009 Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK.
But the Essence concept car wasn't the only Infiniti that made its UK debut. The luxury automotive brand from Japan also gave visitors to the festival a sneak preview of the forthcoming G37 Convertible model which goes on sale in the UK this September.
The Essence concept was created as a celebration of Infiniti and its 20 years history as a creator of performance cars. But equally it is an inspiring exploration into the brand's future.
The dramatic design, technology and performance statement is a 600PS petrol/electric hybrid coupŽ with rear-wheel drive. It was on display on Goodwood's FoS-TECH pavilion and also on the famous Goodwood Hillclimb where it was driven in public for the first time.
"While the Essence concept car is a tempting glimpse into Infiniti's future, our cars, facilities and growth plans in the Middle East region are very much tangible," said Abhijeet Pandit, general manager, Infiniti Business Unit in the Middle East.
"One of the brand's distinctive retail facilities has been operational in Kuwait City since March 2008 and more facilities will be open in the coming period. Our customer promise is a unique combination of peace of mind, hospitality and driving pleasure - all factors which will continue the Infiniti success story in our region."
Joining Essence on the Hillclimb - and in the Sunday Times newspaper supercar paddock - was the 320PS, V6 powered G37 Convertible shown in right-hand drive form for the first time.
Offered in a choice of two comprehensively equipped models, both featuring a metal three-piece folding roof, the G37 Convertible has been designed without compromise to look as beautiful with the top up as it does down. For more details call YK_Almoayyed on 17732732.
