A leading hotel group is offering the opportunity for expectant parents to have a final luxury getaway before the baby arrives and the nappies pile up.

The Ritz-Carlton hotels in Bahrain, Dubai, Sharm El Sheikh and Sharq Village, Doha, are delivering a brand new 'Ritzy Babymoon' holiday experience.

"Traditionally, we have a lot of families and couples who holiday at our resorts throughout the year in Bahrain, Dubai, Sharm El Sheikh and Doha," said area vice-president, Middle East, Pascal Duchauffour.

"As a father of four young children myself, I know first hand how rewarding, yet tiring, it is to raise a family, so we wanted to make sure that all our guests who are expecting a baby would have a soothing last vacation before their lives turn upside down. That's how the idea for a specialised 'babymoon' package at The Ritz-Carlton was born."

Defined loosely as a 'relaxing escape' for pregnant women and their husbands, babymooning aims to provide a much-welcomed and healthy respite from the daily stresses related to carrying a child to term.

Mr Duchauffour explained: "This babymoon lets the partners spend quality time to reconnect with each other before two becomes three."

Available from this month through to the end of December, the Ritzy Babymoon holiday package at The Ritz-Carlton Bahrain is priced at BD333++ per night/room for a minimum stay of three nights, booked at least five days in advance.

General manager Mark Neukomm added: "A pre-baby vacation at The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain is the perfect answer for those looking for some pampering and relaxation before midnight feedings and less sleep become the norm.

"Our Babymoon package is designed for optimum indulgence and luxury. These last 'escape trips' for parents-to-be provide the perfect setting to relax and reconnect as a couple before their life will change completely.

"Pre-baby vacations are one of the hippest trends in travel today and offer mums and dads-to-be the opportunity for a very special and romantic getaway."

It includes the following pampering features:

A skin nourishing, butler-drawn signature bath.

Daily breakfast in bed for two.
