Bahrain Duty Free’s website wins e-Economy Award

Bahrain Duty Free Shopping Complex won the e-Economy Excellence Award for the private business sector, during the launch of the Bahrain International e-Government Excellence Award 2010 Programme.

 

The award was received by chairman Farouk Almoayyed at a ceremony staged at Isa Cultural Centre.

It was held under

 the patronage of Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister and chairman of the Supreme Committee for Information Communication Technology.

The Bahrain Duty Free’s website won the award in recognition of its outstanding performance in promoting excellence and creativity in the field of e-Service amongst the public sector organisations in the kingdom through its implementation of the innovated, first of its kind in the Middle East, concept of ‘buy online’.

 

The e-Government award is given to public or private organisations that use information and communications technologies in an innovative approach to develop the economic sector in Bahrain.
