David Wales narrowly won the Royal Golf Club's 'five clubs and a putter' competition with a net score of 73.

Olive Wagstaff finished second with a net score of 74, beating Rob Jones on count back who finished third on the same score.

Competitors were restricted to selecting just five clubs each from their bags prior to teeing off.

"There were some excellent scores achieved today considering that the competitors had limited clubs in their bags - some even bettered their average round," said John Wilson, the Royal Golf Club's golf events key accounts manager.
