Gulf Weekly MOMENTUM BUILDS FOR GULFBID 2012

LEADING companies from Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia will gather in the kingdom next April for gulfBID 2012, the showpiece trade exhibition for the region’s construction, contracting and engineering communities.

gulfBID 2012, the sixth in the highly successful annual construction exhibition series, will run from April 24-26 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIECC). The exhibition is organised by Bahrain-based Hilal Conferences and Exhibitions (HCE).

gulfBID 2012 will showcase products, services and expertise across the highly-specialised construction, contracting and engineering disciplines of building and construction, construction design, engineering and project management, water technology and environment, construction plant and machinery, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, glass and metal, bathrooms and ceramics and marble, cement and bricks.

Local, regional and international companies are poised to participate in the show, which they consider is an excellent entry point into a region defined by world-class construction projects worth billions of dollars. With a business to business (B2B) focus, gulfBID 2012 brings industry specialists face to face with decision makers, senior consultants and other key personnel from some of the region’s biggest projects and their promoters.

HCE managing director Jubran Abdulrahman said: “gulfBID 2012 is viewed as the essential promotional platform for the building and construction sector in the northern Gulf. This is not our view but that of the industry players themselves.

“At a time when staggering levels of spending in construction and infrastructure projects in the region-totalling over half a billion dollars in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain alone - currently under way, gulfBID provides an ideal opportunity for companies to network with the top construction professionals and project specifiers.”

To date, key international business organisations, the German Arab Chamber of Commerce and British Expertise, a trade organisation which promotes British construction, design and engineering companies overseas, have confirmed their support for gulfBID 2012.

gulfBID 2012 will also play host to the second edition of the highly acclaimed Green Building Forum, which made its debut in 2010. The Forum is an opportunity for business leaders, professionals and concerned individuals from the Gulf region and around the world to exchange information, views and opinions about the role of the construction and housing sector in creating a more environmentally-friendly world.
