A friend of the Whisperer made a right turkey of herself this Christmas when she tried to cook a romantic festive feast for two.
Christmas day is generally a time to eat, drink and be merry, but without the aid of someone who’s handy in the kitchen it can prove a little difficult.
The would-be chef woke up early to defrost the bird and pre-heat the oven and put up some decorations.
When her husband awoke at around midday he noticed they had run out of milk so the pair took a trip to the local cold store to stock up. When they got there, they bumped into a friend and got chatting.
In the festive spirit, they decided to go for a Christmas coffee together and before they knew it, hours had gone by as they enjoyed a long catch up. When the couple got home they were greeted by plumes of smoke coming from the oven.
The turkey was seared to a crisp, leaving the couple to enjoy Christmas dinner with a less than festive pre-cooked chicken from the supermarket deli.
