Finding a little slice of paradise

Recently I was approached by a friend of mine and asked where the best place to go out during the weekend was – the question made me stop and think for a moment about how much choice there actually is on the island.

My first logical answer would be to look to the vast shopping centres around Bahrain. Places like City Centre or Seef Mall provide a diverse range of weekend activities and opportunities to socialise with friends and colleagues alike; one of my favourite pastimes involves strolling leisurely through Bahrain City Centre and window shopping whilst enjoying a vanilla latte or frozen yoghurt.

With each month, new stores and restaurants are being introduced, providing the community with more chances to experience new flavours of the outside world.

Another option I imagined would be a trip to Amwaj for a day as nothing compares to enjoying the seaside with a couple of friends or lounging by the Lagoon with an ice-cold drink by your side. Conversely, head to the Royal Golf Club at Riffa Views for a day and enjoy the rolling green golf courses and fantastic brunches.

To a hard-working, stressed and constantly busy student, a little relaxation goes a long way, and depending on the type of person you are, Bahrain is not lacking in places that can become your little slice of paradise to recharge your batteries in.
