The Whisperer loves theatrical folk and wishes the thespians behind the island’s latest stage endeavour every success and is particularly delighted to hear all involved are Hollywood-bound.
The inaugural meeting of the newly-created Bahrain International Community Theatre Group (BICTG) is being held next Tuesday at 7.30pm at Ceramique Café and it will be an opportunity for those with an initial interest to find out about the organisation and its intended direction and structure.
The BICTG embraces the whole of Bahrain and is open to everyone across the spectrum of nationalities and talents and is intended to be an expression of the community and therefore the content of what shall be developed will have a truly global appeal, but with particular emphasis upon the traditions, history, myths, culture, values, geography, customs, literature and scripts of the kingdom and surrounding cultural influences.
For anyone who may have an attraction in joining then please send your contact details as an expression of interest to David HOLLYWOOD at bictheatre@gmail.com or call him on 39207624.
This notice is not just about actors and actresses but also an opportunity for people interested in stage design, sound, lighting, carpentry, costume, make-up, script writing, directing, helping, assisting and just being generally enthusiastic, so when you reply please just indicate in one or two words what area you have most enthusiasm for.
It is planned that at this first meeting the focus shall be a simple introduction to the organisation and an opportunity to gauge the initial numbers of personalities who are interested.
All information provided shall be collected for follow-up and progression in the early autumn and it is hoped that the group will be up-and-running by the end of the year.
