CROWDS of shoppers and supporters showed their support for the Lulu Autism Awareness Walkathon staged at the Ramli Mall in A’ali.
The Saturday morning 3km stroll started and finished at the food court and participants were given a free T-shirt and a raffle ticket after paying just BD2 to register for the event.
Also on the day walkers and their families were treated to free face-painting and decorative henna.
Event director Adnan Alqassab said he was delighted with the support shown and will be able to announce how much was raised once the sponsorship money is collected.
“It was a good day,” he said. “Around 150 people attended and enjoyed the challenge all with the aim of supporting the cause and the community.”
Proceeds from event will go to the Al Rashad Autism Centre in Bahrain.
