Hit reality singing competition American Idol has kicked off its 12th season with fresh new faces behind the judging panel.
The show’s host, Ryan Seacrest, believes that the upcoming season is the ‘best yet’ and fans will not be disappointed with newcomers Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban, who have joined Randy Jackson to judge the competition.
This year, the show tries to give small-town singers unable to make it to the big city to audition a shot by taking a bus tour of smaller towns.
There is also a new ‘Nominate an Idol’ twist, which will let family and friends secretly submit their favourite young singers for consideration.
It has been rumoured that the tension between divas Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj could be easily cut with a dull knife and people will be eating up the delicious chemistry between the two.
American Idol airs every Thursday and Friday on OSN First at 8pm.
