Gulf Weekly Wagstaff, Wales seal top spot in Monday Madness

Steve Wagstaff and David Wales secured top place in the NHSC Monday Madness Night Golf Series at the Royal Golf Club with a score of 25 points.

Despite the chilly conditions, 23 teams took to the fairways of the club’s Montgomerie championship course to compete in the second week of the series. The competition format was the ‘Rainbow Challenge’, which entails playing from three differing sets of tees. At the end of play, the leader board had a very familiar look to it – four of the top five pairs from last week’s competition repeated the feat this week.

Depriest Daniels and Andre Williams backed up their win last week, finishing in second place on 24 points. Last week’s second placed duo, Petter Nyberg and Patrick Leslie, dropped one spot finishing third on a score of 23 points, while Matt Boast and James Williamson finished in fourth place for the second consecutive week.

The prize presentation took place after play and competitors enjoyed product tasting courtesy of NHSC. Soorja Gopinath, NHSC’s sales executive was on hand to present the prizes.

The NHSC Monday Madness Night Golf Series is open to non-members at a cost of just BD20 per night for the 9-hole event. Competitors tee off every Monday evening in a 6.30pm shotgun start.
