Changing perceptions

It is a fact that our perception of time changes with age. The older I get, it feels as though the school years become shorter every term and it seems like only yesterday I was panicking about my January exams.

Now here I am, writing my final column and only days away from sitting my last exams ever! With the pressure of my exams reaching its pinnacle, I realise that today will be the last time I sit down with my laptop and write about growing up in such a fascinating country.

Bahrain has provided me with a number of unique memories, whether they be good or bad, and it is time for me to look to the future to begin creating new memories and experiences as a university student.

As time perception goes, it will seem like no time at all before I leave student life behind entirely and begin searching for a job.

I am very grateful to have been given the chance to pursue writing, a skill I one day hope to use professionally.

This weekly column has provided me with great experience that will be truly beneficial in my attempt at journalism, and I am happy to pass on this opportunity to another young person who will be able to express their opinions and memories in a similar manner.

I would like to thank all those who made this opportunity possible, as well as GulfWeekly for affording me the privilege of expressing my views on being a teenager in such an interesting environment.
