The Indian Club Ford May Queen Ball 2013 will be held at the club in Gudaibiya on Friday. Ten models will be flown in from the Indian city of Pune, along with two Bollywood DJs and dancers for the event.

Indian, Pakistani, Bahraini, Filipino, Egyptian, Sri Lankan, Russian and British women aged between 16 and 28, will vie for the coveted May Queen Crown and the contest will consist of three rounds of catwalk.

Winning categories include the May Queen winner, first runner-up, second runner-up, best smile, best hairdo, best catwalk and members choice.

The Bahrain World Trade Centre (BWTC) is offering photographers in Bahrain the opportunity to capture innovative snapshots of the landmark in a competition and post them on Instagram and Facebook. Manama Theatre Club, a section of the British Club, presents Be My Baby, a play by Amanda Whittingdon, on June 24-27. It tells the story of four young girls whose lives have not gone to plan and are placed in a home for young mothers-to-be. The cast is led by Palmyra Mattner who plays Mary.  Her fellow inmates are performed by Jenny Cairns, Hannah Lynch and Hayley Furness. The matron is played by Julia Doorne and the cast is completed by Rosemary Lee playing the part of Mary’s mother.
