Batelco chief executive Peter Kaliaropoulos presented 11 staff members with certificates and cash prizes for their contribution to the Company’s A’ara’A scheme, at an award ceremony held at the company’s Hamala headquarters.

A’ara’A is a programme designed to encourage staff to contribute constructive and creative suggestions and ideas with the aim of improving products and services. The winners for the last quarter of 2006 are Husain Al Fardan, Ahmed Mohammed Abdulla, Hasan Al Saegh, Aref Murad, Olive Wagstaff, Mahmood  A Majeed, Essam Al Mashoor, Hameed Saleh, Sama Al Alawi, Abeer Al Mahmeed and Ahmed Zainal. A ceremony was held by Batelco at its Hamala training centre to present certificates to 14 staff members for successfully completing Multi-Service Access Network (MSAN) training. A second group is currently undergoing training and will complete their course on Tuesday. Networks general manager Ebrahim Zainal presented the certificates to the trainees from different departments, including Networks Development and Operations, Training Centre, Network Operation Centre, Business Data Assurance and Helpdesk.

Batelco has presented Sony Ericsson k800i mobile phones to the winners of its Gulf Cup mobile SMS quiz. Customers to answer a question which was published in leading local publications. The correct answer was A (Abudhabi). The winners are Saleel Mohammed Hassan, Ebrahim Abdulla, Zuhair Marhoon and Hussain Mustafa.
