Gulf Weekly Bollywood star opens store’s new outlet

Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon inaugurated Al Adil supermarket’s second outlet in Bahrain.

The Indian actress joined Dr Dhananjay Datar, chairman of Al Adil Trading, and Noman Shaikh, the store’s managing director, at a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week.

Hundreds turned up for the inauguration of the new outlet which is situated in Zubarah Avenue, near Al Hamra Cinema and next to the Indian Club.

“Our expansion plan is a growing testimony to the faith that our customers have in our products,” said Dr Datar. “We are planning to open more supermarkets in Bahrain soon.

“We chose Raveena Tandon to be the face of our inauguration as she represents the Indian woman of today, who is a perfect homemaker and yet is career-oriented. She is a perfect brand fit.”

The actress said she was ‘happy’ to attend the inauguration.

Alongside the kingdom’s stores, the company boasts 27 other retail outlets in the UAE, Oman and India, as well as two spice factories and two flour mills.

It offers more than 8,500 items imported directly from India and is certified a ‘100 per cent pure vegetarian store’ with certification from Union Vegetarian International. Under the Peacock brand it has a range of pickles, desserts and confectionery items.
