The 24th Bahrain Ladies Open was held at Awali Golf Club on Friday. The planned 36-hole event had to be cut to 18 holes due to adverse weather conditions on Saturday. Royal Golf Club Lady Captain Debbie Lane was crowned champion with a fantastic score of 91, one stroke ahead of Awali Golf Club’s Jan McAlpine.

The competition was fiercely contested with only six shots separating the top 10 ladies. Sarah Hobday, Blandie Mills and Rowena Faerch finished two strokes back on 93 to claim the next three places respectively.

The final members of the top 10 were Madeline Mackie (94), Danielle Sheppard (96), Evelyn Sword (96), Hanne Hansen (97) and Nicky Bailey (97).

To commemorate the 24th Ladies Open, a special prize was handed to Roberta Trzebinski who finished in 24th place.

Saturday was well attended and a great day was had by all at Awali Golf Club. The presentation took place on the 10th tee box in pouring rain but in a wonderful atmosphere.
