Most people are vitamin D deficient. That’s a fact. Especially in the Middle East. We have so much sun but so few of us sit in it on a daily basis.
To make matters worse, when we do get a bit of sun we are either covered up in modest clothing, or we’re wearing all kinds of SPF sun protection.
But the truth is that the sun needs to hit the skin directly for us to get vitamin D which is crucial for boosting immunity and protecting us from all kinds of diseases, including cancer.
But the sun has other benefits too; that’s why you can’t just replace it with a supplement.
Believe it or not, the sun needs to get into the eyes in order to reach the brain and boost the happiness factor. Which means it plays a big role in preventing and treating depression. So ditch the sunglasses too.
Try to get at least 20 minutes of direct sunlight on your skin and in your eyes on a daily basis (more if you have darker skin).
Isn’t it great that we have so much abundance of this healing miracle?
