Ahmed Mohammed came out on top among the more than 90 golfers vying for position in Friday’s Citibank Challenge hosted by the Awali Golf Club.
In warm conditions, the largest field of the season produced some extraordinary Stableford scores with nine players earning handicap cuts.
Prizes were presented to the top six golfers overall by the bank’s business development managers Hanan Al Shekar and Jojin Mathew.
In his pre-presentation preamble the club’s resident bard and captain commented on the heat and recited his golfing version of Keat’s Ode to Autumn.
Captain Bill Scarth awarded a first club handicap of 24 to Andrew Hawkins and, following a special raffle, a cash present was given to staff member Hari commemorating his 40 years of service to Bapco.
