So you have learned the basics of the game and are taking your first steps onto the course. It can be an intimidating experience, with all the many rules and etiquette required.
Many a time I have seen players hit the ball to watch in shock as it heads towards another golfer, like a rabbit caught in a car’s headlights! Don’t be shy – shout ‘FORE!’ at the top of your voice.
Likewise, if you hear someone else shout ‘FORE!’ don’t look around to see who’s shouting, just get down and cover your head with your hands.
Remember the pain and embarrassment of a poor shot is far less than the pain of being struck by a golf ball.
