The overall winner of the event is the player carding thelowest gross score over 18 holes and this encouraged lower handicappers to participate in the competition.
Khalid Salem demonstrated a quality better than all others to claim the trophy as the over all winner with a gross 71 score.
Dave Bailey, general manager of Mohammed Jalal Contracting,gave away the prizes.
Results – Flight 1: 1 Ahmed Al Noaimi (nett 67, gross 75), 2Abdulrahman Amin (68/73), 3 Hamed Salem (68/72). Flight 2: 1 Adnan Al Sowaidi(66/77), 2 Salah Al Shaer (69/80), 3 Vidhu Mittal (69/86). Flight 3: 1 PaulAnderson (71/96), 2 Joan Martin (72/103), 3 Tracy Samson (74/103).
Flighted competitions, such as this, enable the prize tableto be better shared amongst those of all handicaps. Taking the field were 35Flight-1 players, 31 Flight-2 players and 10 Flight-3 players and a side prizefor nearest the pin on a par-3 hole was also available for each Flight.
None of the 31 Flight-2 players landed their ball onthe green for their nearest-the-pin contest and four of them were disqualifiedfor breaking the rules.
