The weekend played host to the first of the BREEF Summer Training Shows, held at the BDF Equestrian Centre in Sakhir on Friday. Starting at 4.30pm, two classes were open to both juniors and adults.

As this was a training show, competitors with faults in the first of the two phases staged could still continue to the end, giving both horses and riders valuable experience. Fences for the first class were 85/100cm and the second class fences rose to 105/120cm.

Ahmed Al Jahromi was on form winning the opening section with AKJC Evelyn clinching first place, as well as 4th on AKJC Dory. Abbas Yousif riding Argentini was runner-up, with Ali Hani Al Yabis astride Ajzal in third. The second class saw Ali Essa steering UFO to victory, with junior Hussain Dadalla shining with the talented Arko to take runner-up spot. Ali Essa also claimed third place, this time riding Tofy.

There will be two more training shows this year on May 22 and June 5 and a further three after Ramadan.
