Todd Gillespie narrowly won first prize in the Royalists’ Independence Day Cup at the Royal Golf Club with a score of 40 points.
Dagfrid Berge took the runners-up spot on count back with 39 points while David Wales came third, also with 39 points.
The competitors teed off from the red, white then blue tees in rotation in honour of American Independence Day.
The social golfing group set up nearest the pin side contests on all the par 3 holes of the club’s Montgomerie championship course. These were won by Bryan Webster on hole 2, Martyn Wright on hole 7, Stewart Hutchinson on hole 12 and Dagfrid Berge on hole 16.
