Farooq Ahmed was the overall winner of the Watson Trophy, hosted by Awali Golf Club (AGC) on Friday.
Donated by, and named after, Dr Noel Watson, who was the AGC President from 1958 to 1960, the Watson Trophy has been played annually since 1960. The format is ‘Bogey’ with a full handicap allowance.
Ahmed had an excellent bogey score of plus 6, closely followed by Joan Martin (2nd), Kerry Diaper (3rd) and Essa Al Qutami (4th), all with plus 5 scores.
The recently appointed club vice captain, Kerry Diaper, presented prizes to the winners.
